ProBuild is not something you buy and it is not required for your warranty to be valid. It is an upgraded tier State unlocks when any professional bike shop assembles the bike and you register it with State within 30 days of delivery. Your local shop counts.

What is not covered
Normal wear and tear on any bike: tires, tubes, chains, brake pads, grips, bar tape, saddles, spokes, and paint or cosmetic finish. Nor is crash and impact damage, improper assembly or adjustment, lack of maintenance, modifications, or incompatible parts. Shop labour is the rider’s responsibility under either tier. RAW finish steel frames are not covered against rust — that is the finish behaving as intended.

Sizes overlap on purpose. Between two, the smaller rides more upright and the larger stretches you out. Every size shares a 450mm chain stay and a 50mm fork offset, so handling stays consistent across the range.

4130 All-Road Overview

The State Bicycle Co. 4130 All-Road in Alpine Bloom is a double butted chromoly gravel bike built to do the lot: gravel days, bikepacking, the commute and the occasional trail. Alpine Bloom is a deep forest green with white lettering down the down tube, and the frame is UDH compatible and dropper post ready, with three water bottle mounts plus rack, fender and accessory mounts.

You choose the wheels. 700c on 23mm internal rims with the 50mm Continental Terra Hardpack, or 650b on 25mm internal rims with 2.1 inch Vittoria Barzo knobbies. Same frame, same clearance, two genuinely different bikes. The drivetrain is State's own 1x12, a 40T direct mount chainring against an 11 to 46T cassette, stopped by cable actuated hydraulic discs on 160mm rotors.

Skip it if you want electronic shifting. The same frame and the same colour are built with fully wireless SRAM AXS on the Alpine Bloom SRAM Rival AXS All-Road, with no cables to route and nothing to re-index.

Built to be changed

Every interface is a current standard. A UDH hanger, so a bent derailleur is a part any shop in the world can order. Thru axles front and rear, 12x100 and 12x142. A BSA 68mm threaded bottom bracket, which a shop can service rather than press.

Internal routing is already in place for a dropper post, and the rest of the cabling is semi internal: cleaner than fully external, easier to service than fully internal. Three water bottle mounts plus rack, fender and accessory mounts. Load it for a week out, or strip it back to a fast Saturday bike.

A DRIVETRAIN YOU CAN SET RIGHT AT THE ROADSIDE

The drivetrain is State's own All-Road 1: a 40T direct mount chainring, an 11 to 46T twelve speed cassette and a KMC X12 chain. One ring at the front means no front derailleur to trim and one lever to think about.

It is cable operated, and at this price that is the argument rather than the compromise. Housing and a cable are parts any shop stocks, indexing is a barrel adjuster away, and there is nothing to charge before a ride. The brakes read the same way: a normal brake cable pulls a hydraulic caliper on 160mm rotors, through compressionless housing so the lever does not go soft.

ONE FRAME, TWO WHEEL SIZES

Same frame, same clearance, genuinely different bikes. The 700c build runs 23mm internal rims and the 50mm Continental Terra Hardpack: the faster, more versatile setup, and the one most gravel riders want.

The 650b build runs 25mm internal rims and Vittoria Barzo 2.1 inch knobbies. More volume, more grip, more trail. Both wheelsets are 32 hole aluminium, 24mm deep and tubeless capable, and the frame takes either, so the other wheelset can come later.

Questions before buying

Which wheel size should I choose?

700c with the 50mm Continental Terra Hardpack is the faster, more versatile setup and the one most gravel riders want. 650b with the 2.1 inch Vittoria Barzo has more volume and more grip for rough ground and trail. The frame takes either, so you can add the other wheelset later.

Are the tires tubeless?

The rims are tubeless capable in both sizes, though tape, valves and sealant are not included. The 700c Continental Terra Hardpack is tubeless ready. The 650b Vittoria Barzo is not rated tubeless. It may be possible to set it up that way, but State does not guarantee it and recommends professional assembly for any tubeless setup.

Can I fit a bigger tire later?

Yes. With the steel fork it ships with, the frame clears 700c up to 55mm, or 650b up to 60mm. That is more rubber than either stock wheelset runs, so there is room to go bigger without changing anything else.

What is UDH and why does it matter?

Universal Derailleur Hanger is a shared standard, so the small part that joins the derailleur to the frame is one any shop can order rather than a proprietary piece you have to chase. On a steel bike meant to last, that is one less part that can strand it.

Can I add a dropper post?

The frame is dropper post ready and the internal routing is already in place. The seat tube takes a 27.2mm post, and the bike ships with a 350mm alloy post, so a dropper is a straight swap when you want one.

Does it come assembled?

It ships partially assembled. The front wheel, handlebar and pedals go on at your end, and the brakes and shifting want checking before the first ride. If you would rather not do that yourself, any local shop will do a build check.
