Cyrusher Aura Overview

The Cyrusher Aura is a step through fat tire e-bike for trails and the city: a 52V 750W rear hub motor with 1050W peak and 95 N.m, a sensor you can switch between torque and cadence, and a 52V 15Ah battery of Samsung 21700 cells, 780Wh, sealed inside the down tube. Cyrusher rates it at 28 MPH and up to 60 miles.

A suspension fork with a lockout carries the front over gravel, sand and broken pavement on 26 x 4 puncture resistant fat tires. Hydraulic disc brakes on 180mm rotors stop it, a Shimano 7 speed covers the climbs and a thumb throttle is there when you want to stop pedalling. It weighs 66 lb with the battery and carries 350 lb.

One size fits riders 5'1" to 6'4" over a 19.5 inch step. Want the same bike as a step over? That is the Zenith.

Built to be lived with

An aluminium step through frame with the battery inside, a suspension fork with lockout, hydraulic disc brakes on 180mm rotors, a Shimano 7 speed drivetrain and 26 x 4 puncture resistant fat tires.

A 3.7 inch colour LCD, thumb throttle, headlight and rear light all come on the bike, with a toolkit box and keys in the box. The electrical system is UL 2849 and UL 2271 certified. Frame, motor and controller are covered for two years, battery and parts for one.

WALK IN, RIDE OUT

The Aura is the step through version of the Zenith: an aluminium frame that drops to 19.5 inches at the step, with the 52V battery sealed inside the down tube, so you walk into it in work clothes or with a loaded rack. It is a hardtail. A suspension fork with a lockout for pavement handles the front, and 26 x 4 puncture resistant fat tires do the rest over gravel, sand and broken road.

The saddle sets from 33.7 to 41.7 inches and Cyrusher fits one size to riders from 5'1" to 6'4", rated to carry 350 lb. At 66 lb with the battery it is the lightest fat tire Cyrusher we sell, nearly 10 lb under the Zenith.

PICK HOW THE POWER ARRIVES

The rear hub is a 52V 750W brushless motor, 1050W peak, with 95 N.m of torque. Most e-bikes give you one kind of sensor. The Aura gives you both: torque mode reads how hard you press and adds power in proportion, cadence mode adds a set amount as soon as the pedals turn. You switch between them on the display.

Five assist levels top out at 28 MPH. The 52V 15Ah battery uses Samsung 21700 cells, charges in 7 to 8 hours on the 2A charger and comes out of the frame to charge indoors. Cyrusher sells the Aura as Class 2 or 3, so where you can ride at the top end depends on your local rules.

Questions before buying

How far does it go on a charge?

Cyrusher quotes up to 60 miles from the 52V 15Ah, 780Wh battery, and that is a best case pedal assist figure. Rider weight, hills, headwind, cold, tire pressure and how much throttle you use all bring it down. Cadence mode at a high assist level uses more than torque mode does.

Is 28 MPH legal?

Cyrusher lists the Aura as Class 2 or 3, with 28 MPH reached in pedal assist level 5. In most US states that is legal on roads and many bike lanes, but paths and trails set their own limits. Check your state and local rules, especially where Class 3 bikes are kept off multi use paths.

Aura or Zenith?

Same motor, battery, brakes and tires in two frames. The Aura steps through at 19.5 inches with a saddle from 33.7 to 41.7 inches and weighs 66 lb. The Zenith is the step over, with a 30 inch standover, a saddle from 32.3 to 40.4 inches and 75.6 lb, for riders who want a stiffer diamond frame.

What does the switchable sensor do?

A torque sensor reads how hard you press and adds power in proportion, so the bike feels natural and uses less battery. A cadence sensor adds a set amount of power as soon as the pedals turn, which feels more like a throttle. The Aura has both and you switch between them on the display.

What comes in the box?

Cyrusher ships the bike, the charger, a toolkit box, the keys and the user manual, and posts an assembly video. You fit the front wheel, handlebar, pedals and saddle, then check every bolt. Fenders and a rear rack are sold separately as a set.

I originally bought the Ti, but decided to upgrade to the L5 special edition. It's a very, very good-looking e-bike with excellent design and quality. The texture and build feel top-notch. I think there is no competitor to Async under $2000. After assembling it and taking it for a test ride, I could only reach 20 mph. Thanks to the patience of customer service, I was able to debug it and get the speed back to the normal level. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my purchase!

I had been wanting an e-bike for a while and finally decided to dive into some research. I started exploring online and talking to fellow riders on trails and bike paths. Everything pointed me to one bike: the ASYNC L3. To put it simply, you won’t find a better bike with all these features for under $1500. The L3 includes many components found in higher-end e-bikes but at a fraction of the cost. The suspension of L3 is amazing I had a very comfortable mountain riding experience! I absolutely love it and would buy the same bike again without hesitation. Live to ride, ride to live.

I hadn't heard of async before and was initially a bit worried. The price was comparable to an e-bike I was considering from aventon. However, after receiving the L3, I feel it was absolutely worth it. The bike looks cool, has great battery capacity, and I really like the async design. The hydraulic disc brakes are very comfortable as well. The only issue I have noticed is that there are some visible welds on the frame, but they don't affect the overall look or performance. I suppose it's a normal sign of welding. Overall, I'm very satisfied with my purchase

I've been interested in e-bikes for a long time, and I had never heard of the ASYNC brand before. I discovered the L3 through a YouTube video review. The look of the L3 caught my eye, and I decided to give this brand a try. I had to wait a while for the pre-order, but once it arrived, I was impressed by the thoughtful packaging and the beautiful design of the bike. For the price, it's an amazing deal. After assembling it, I took it for a ride and was blown away by the motor's strength. The pedals provide stable and abundant power. I still need more time to assess the battery life, but so far, this is an excellent e-bike!

This is my first e-bike, and after doing extensive research on e-bikes under $2k, I decided to treat myself to an ASYNC L5 for my birthday. It has been an absolute blast! I love the torque sensor and the different levels of pedal assist. The throttle is great for getting started from a stop or tackling hills. The step-through model makes it so much easier to get on and off the bike.

I assembled it myself and immediately went on a 10-mile ride, which only used about 20% of the battery even in a very hilly area. I was grinning the whole time. I did have to adjust the front brakes to prevent them from rubbing, but everything else worked perfectly out of the box. If you're undecided like I was, just go for it! It arrived with a 70% charge, so I was able to ride it right away.

This bike is a rock-solid tank! A true 'manly man' kind of e-bike! It’s my second e-bike and it doesn’t disappoint. It’s faster, more stable, and sturdier than my previous one. The torque sensor is a game-changer! As a disabled veteran, my legs don’t work as well as I’d like them to. I could go to level 3 for short bursts before the pedals were too fast. The torque sensor on the ASYNC L5 makes for such an enjoyable ride—it's night and day compared to my old bike! Job well done, ASYNC!
