1 year, battery. Excludes damage from power surges, the wrong charger or water.

Cyrusher Path Overview

The Cyrusher Path is a step through city e-bike: a Bafang 48V 750W rear hub motor with 85 N.m, a sensor you can switch between torque and cadence, and a 48V 15Ah Samsung battery, 720Wh, sealed inside the down tube. Cyrusher rates it at 28 MPH and up to 60 miles.

It rolls on 27.5 x 2.4 Maxxis Ardent tires under a Vaxa suspension fork with a lockout, so it is quick on pavement and steady on a gravel path. Tektro hydraulic disc brakes on 203mm rotors stop it, a Shimano CUES 9 speed covers the climbs, and a thumb throttle is there when you want to stop pedalling. It weighs 77.2 lb and carries 330 lb.

Fenders, a rear rack, a headlight with horn and a tail light with brake light and turn signals all come fitted. The frame steps through at 16.5 inches and one size fits riders 4'11" to 6'3". Want fat tires on a step through instead? That is the Aura.

Built to be lived with

A 6061 aluminium step through frame with the battery inside, a Vaxa oil and spring fork with lockout, Tektro hydraulic discs on 203mm rotors, a Shimano CUES 9 speed with SL-U4000 shifters, a 152mm forged 42T crank and 27.5 x 2.4 Maxxis Ardent tires on alloy rims.

Full fenders, a rear rack, an LED headlight with horn, a frame integrated tail light with brake light and turn signals, a colour LCD, thumb throttle, Zoom adjustable stem, vacuum formed saddle and kickstand all come on the bike, with a toolkit box and keys in the box. UL 2849 and UL 2271 certified. Frame, motor and controller are covered for two years, battery and parts for one.

SIT UP, SEE THE CITY

The Path is built around how you sit. A city handlebar sweeps back 35 degrees and down 20, so your wrists and shoulders rest instead of bracing, and a Zoom adjustable stem lets you set the bar anywhere from 39.4 to 47.2 inches high, upright for errands or lower for speed. A vacuum formed saddle spreads the load on longer rides.

The frame is 6061 aluminium with the battery inside and steps through at 16.5 inches. A Vaxa oil and spring fork with a lockout smooths the potholes, and 27.5 x 2.4 Maxxis Ardent tires roll faster on pavement than a fat tire does. Full fenders and a rear rack come fitted. One size fits riders 4'11" to 6'3" and carries 330 lb.

POWER THAT FOLLOWS YOUR FEET

The rear hub is a Bafang 48V 750W brushless motor with 85 N.m of torque. Most e-bikes give you one kind of sensor. The Path gives you both: torque mode reads how hard you press and adds power in proportion, cadence mode adds a set amount as soon as the pedals turn. You switch between them from the left hand pad.

Five assist levels top out at 28 MPH, and walk mode pushes the bike beside you up a ramp. The 48V 15Ah Samsung battery charges in 5 to 6 hours on the 48V 3A charger, is rated for 800 cycles and comes out of the frame to charge indoors. Cyrusher sells the Path as Class 2 or 3, so where you can ride at the top end depends on your local rules.

Questions before buying

How far does it go on a charge?

Cyrusher quotes up to 60 miles from the 48V 15Ah, 720Wh Samsung battery, and that is a best case pedal assist figure. Rider weight, hills, headwind, cold, tire pressure and how much throttle you use all bring it down. Cadence mode at a high assist level uses more than torque mode does.

Is 28 MPH legal?

Cyrusher lists the Path as Class 2 or 3, with 28 MPH reached in pedal assist level 5. In most US states that is legal on roads and many bike lanes, but paths and trails set their own limits. Check your state and local rules, especially where Class 3 bikes are kept off multi use paths.

Path or a fat tire Cyrusher?

The Path rides on 27.5 x 2.4 Maxxis tires, which roll faster and steer lighter on pavement than a 4 inch fat tire, and it weighs 77.2 lb. The Aura and Zenith run 26 x 4 fat tires for sand, snow and rough trail. If most of your miles are streets and bike paths, the Path is the one.

What size is it?

One size, and it fits a wide range. Cyrusher lists riders from 4'11" to 6'3". The step is 16.5 inches, reach 18.5, wheelbase 47.2, and the bike is 74.8 inches long. The adjustable stem sets the handlebar between 39.4 and 47.2 inches high.

What comes in the box?

Cyrusher ships the bike, the charger, a toolkit box, the keys and the user manual, and posts an assembly video. You fit the front wheel, handlebar, pedals and saddle, then check every bolt. The rear rack and fenders are already on. A front basket is sold separately.

My new favorite way to get around.

I’ve had the Path for about three weeks now. Honestly, I was a bit worried about the step-through frame looking too 'casual,' but man, my knees thank me every time I hop on. It’s way sturdier than it looks in photos. I’ve been using it for grocery runs and hitting some light gravel paths behind my house. It’s definitely on the heavier side—don't expect to lug it up stairs easily—but once the motor kicks in, you don't feel the weight at all. It’s just a solid, comfortable ride that actually makes me want to be outside.
