Rebel 2.0 Overview
The Rebel 2.0 is the quiet one. A Bafang BBSHD mid drive puts 1000W nominal and 1,632W peak through the crank with 160Nm of torque, and it does it without the whine a hub motor makes. On a walk in before first light that matters more than the spec sheet suggests.
Because the motor drives the crank it works through the Shimano 8 speed drivetrain, so it changes ratio every time you shift. Drop a gear on a steep pitch and the torque is still there instead of falling away.
All of it sits on a step through frame, so getting on and off in boots with a pack does not involve swinging a leg over a top tube. Maxxis Minion 26 x 4 tires, a 300 lb load capacity and up to 32 mph.
BBSHD MID DRIVE, NOT A HUB
A hub motor pushes from the wheel at one fixed ratio. The Rebel's Bafang BBSHD drives the crank, so it runs through the 8 speed cassette and gets the same mechanical advantage you do. On a loaded climb that is the difference between pulling and bogging.
It is also the quietest drive Rambo builds. 1000W nominal, 1,632W peak, 160Nm of torque, and a thumb throttle on the left bar when you want power without pedalling.

STEP THROUGH, BUILT TO CARRY
No top tube to clear. The step through frame is built for mounting and dismounting with gear on, in waders, or with a rifle across your back, and it is what makes this bike work for riders a conventional frame rules out.
Hydroformed 6061 T6 aluminium, tig welded, with a 300 lb load capacity and an integrated rear rack. Logan brakes with dual piston pads, 203mm front and 180mm rear, with an electric cutoff that kills the motor the moment you pull a lever.

Bafang BBSHD 1000W
The high torque mid drive celebrated for combining raw power with near silent operation. 1,632W peak rating, 160Nm of torque, 1000W nominal.

Shimano 8 speed 11-40T
A wide range 8 speed cassette gives the motor real gearing to work through, and gives you smooth, reliable shifting when the ground turns steep.

Logan dual piston brakes
203mm front and 180mm rear Logan hydraulic brakes with dual piston pads and an integrated electric safety cutoff that kills the motor the moment you brake.

Waterproof LCD with ACS
A full colour waterproof display with a built in USB port, carrying the Adjustable Class System so you can cap the bike at Class 1, 2 or 3.

Rambo Storm LED lightbar
A frame integrated light bar with white and green modes. Green preserves night vision on the walk in, white lights the way out.

Bar mounted controls
Power, assist level and lights all sit under your thumb, so you are not hunting for a switch with gloves on in the dark.

Questions before buying
Why a mid drive instead of a hub motor?+
A hub motor sits in the wheel and turns it at one fixed ratio. The Rebel's Bafang BBSHD drives the crank, so it runs through the Shimano 8 speed cassette and changes ratio every time you shift. On a steep, loaded climb you drop a gear and the torque holds instead of falling away. The BBSHD is also markedly quieter than a hub drive.
15 AMP or 20 AMP, which battery should I pick?+
Rambo rates the 48V 15Ah at up to 48 miles and the 20Ah upgrade at up to 65. Those are pedal assist figures. Cold weather, a loaded bike and throttle use all pull the real number down. Choose the size in the Battery AMP option above.
Is it street legal?+
It ships with Rambo's Adjustable Class System in the display, so the rider can cap the bike at Class 1, 2 or 3 limits. Unrestricted it will do up to 32 mph. Class rules are set locally, so check what your state and your trail system allow before you ride.
What are the brakes?+
Logan hydraulic brakes, 203mm front and 180mm rear, with dual piston pads and an integrated electric safety cutoff that kills the motor the moment you pull a lever.
How much can it carry, and how much does it weigh?+
Load capacity is 300 lbs, rider and gear together. The bike is 64 lbs with the battery removed, the lightest of the full size Rambos, and the battery adds 9 lbs.
How much assembly is needed?+
Rambo ships the bike almost fully assembled. Final setup takes a few minutes and needs no specialty tools. Rambo also publish a Rebel 2.0 assembly video, linked below.
Does it have a throttle?+
Yes, a thumb throttle on the left hand side of the handlebar, alongside pedal assist.
