Cyrusher Ranger 2.0 Overview

The Cyrusher Ranger 2.0 is a full suspension fat tire electric mountain bike with a step over frame: a 52V 750W Bafang hub motor in the rear wheel, a torque sensor that matches the assist to how hard you pedal, and a 52V 20Ah battery of LG cells, 1040Wh, sealed inside the down tube. Cyrusher rates it at 28 MPH and up to 75 miles.

A four bar rear linkage with a DNM air shock and a dual crown fork with 60mm of travel carry it over roots, rocks and sand on 26 x 4 Kenda puncture resistant tires. Tektro four piston hydraulic brakes stop it, and a Shimano 9 speed covers the climbs. It weighs 87 lb and carries 350 lb.

The step over frame gives a 28 inch standover and a 19.3 inch reach, and one size fits riders 5'7" to 6'6". Want the same bike with a frame you step through? That is the Trax 2.0.

Built to be lived with

A 6061 aluminium step over frame with the battery inside, a four bar rear linkage on a DNM air shock, a dual crown fork with lockout, a 170mm 52T forged crank on a KMC chain and 12 gauge stainless spokes. Kenda 26 x 4 tires on alloy rims.

A 3.7 inch colour display, thumb throttle, LED headlight with horn, kickstand and sport saddle on a 33.9mm post all come on the bike. Certified to UL 2849 and UL 2271. Frame, motor and controller are covered for two years, battery and parts for one.

BOTH WHEELS STAY ON THE GROUND

The Ranger 2.0 hangs its rear wheel on a four bar linkage with a DNM air shock, 165 by 28mm, under the seat. Up front is a hydraulic dual crown fork with 60mm of travel and a lockout for pavement. Together they keep both 26 x 4 Kenda tires planted over roots, rocks and sand instead of bouncing you off the saddle.

The frame is 6061 aluminium with the 52V battery inside the down tube, a 28 inch standover and a 19.3 inch reach. Cyrusher fits it to riders from 5'7" to 6'6" on one size, with the saddle adjusting from 34 to 39 inches. The whole bike is rated to carry 350 lb.

POWER THAT FOLLOWS YOUR FEET

The rear hub is a 52V 750W Bafang. A torque sensor reads how hard you press on the pedals and adds power in proportion, so the bike feels like your own legs on a good day instead of a switch that is either on or off. A thumb throttle is there when you want to stop pedalling.

Five assist levels top out at 28 MPH. The 52V 20Ah battery charges in 5 to 7 hours on the 52V 3A charger and is rated for 800 cycles. Cyrusher sells it as Class 2 or 3, so where you can ride at the top end depends on your local rules.

Questions before buying

How far does it go on a charge?

Cyrusher quotes up to 75 miles from the 52V 20Ah, 1040Wh battery, and that is a best case pedal assist figure. Rider weight, hills, headwind, cold weather, tire pressure and how much throttle you use all bring it down. Cyrusher suggests a low assist level while you learn the bike and your routes.

Is 28 MPH legal?

Cyrusher lists the Ranger 2.0 as Class 2 or 3, with 28 MPH reached in pedal assist level 5. In most US states that is legal on roads and many bike lanes, but paths and trails set their own limits. Check your state and local rules, especially where Class 3 bikes are kept off multi use paths.

Ranger 2.0 or Trax 2.0?

They are the same bike in two frames. The Ranger 2.0 is the step over with a 28 inch standover, for riders 5'7" to 6'6". The Trax 2.0 is the step thru at 20.5 inches on the same 750W Bafang motor, 52V 20Ah battery, Tektro brakes and Shimano 9 speed. Both weigh 87 lb and carry 350 lb.

What size is it?

One size. Cyrusher fits it to riders from 5'7" to 6'6". The saddle sets from 34 to 39 inches off the ground, the handlebar sits 46 inches up and 27.6 inches wide, the wheelbase is 49.4 inches and the bike is 78 inches long. Standover is 28 inches.

Does it arrive assembled?

Mostly. You fit the front wheel and tighten its axle, thread the left and right pedals on with a 15mm wrench, set the handlebar in the stem and drop the saddle into its quick release post, then check every bolt. Cyrusher recommends a bike mechanic checks your work. Fenders and a rear rack are not included.

What is the warranty?

Quiet and stable

Quiet and stable. I use this for hunting access, and the?brushless motor?is quiet yet powerful. The?front and rear shocks?working in sync creates a very stable platform for carrying gear. I was surprised by how simple the assembly was; everything fit perfectly. Delivery was lightning fast, arrived just in time for the weekend.

Package was as expected. Great packaging! All great components and fully adjustable shocks. I lock the rear shock on pavement to minimize bouncing when pedaling. The motor seems powerful enough to go up long hills with ease and the torque sensor is pretty smooth with as many as 9 petal assist modes. The frame is built and welded with craftsmanship. The 1000 lumin headlight is very bright and wide enough. I have only put about 20 miles on it and the battery seems to last a long time depending on hills and ambient temperature. I ordered the fender rack kit which I’m still waiting on but love the bike! It’s amazing on and off-road! Highly recommend this bike. I’m 5’-8” 150 pounds and I have the seat up about two inches from it being fully down and I love the fit. I like how you don’t lean forward too much but you’re not perfectly upright either. This is a more sporty bike. It’s perfect for the all around uses, on and off road. Thank you Cyrusher

"Nice bike", is an understatement! I recently purchased two Ranger 2.0 ebikes, along with the fenders and rack assemblies and a couple other upgrades I did on my own. These bikes came packaged so well, you could have dropped them from a five-story building and probably would not have hurt them. Kudos to whoever came up with a Packaging design as it was very very well done. Putting the bikes together took a little time, but was not difficult, and the extra time just came from me being careful not to mar anything up during assembly. The fit and finish is fantastic, the paint is fantastic. Plus, in the pictures, what you would think are stickers like the Cyrusher logo, and the striping, is actually paint, which is a huge bonus. The fender and rack set fit perfectly and the rack is super strong, not some rack like you would find on a 70s bicycle. The bikes are super smooth, very stable and all conditions from Road, to single track, to Hills In the Woods with roots, soft sand, steps, and ruts. Even in the rougher stuff the bike stays stable, and very very controllable. No creeks, no rattles, it is a very well built bike. Honestly, I was shocked at what these things would do off-road, and thought to myself, these are going to be fun! The display gives you all the info you would need, plus all the controls are very intuitive and learned in about 5 minutes riding. Would I do it again? Absolutely without hesitation. Well done Cyrusher! Four Years, Still Strong

Four Years, Still Strong. The Ranger has been absolutely fantastic. I’ve taken this thing out in snow, rain, and forests and it rides great. I’ve installed the offroad controller mod, but without it this bike still kicks. The throttle is response and the battery life is so far great. Of course, basic wear will occur on any Ebike battery. My buddy crashed this bike into a rocky trench a few years ago at full speed and the bike took very minimal damage (chain popped and the front tire needed realigned). Point being, this bike is STURDY. If you’re looking for reliable, this bike is it. The only part replacements I’ve needed as an everyday rider have been brake pads, due it being such a large vehicle, as well as a new battery latch because the old plastic one snapped. But for four years of riding in various conditions every single day, that’s not bad at all. Not to mention, it’s a head turner. I haven’t parked this bike anywhere where it hasn’t gotten photographed or asked about. If you enjoy a fast, reliable, camera-ready Ebike, this is it.

I highly recommend watching their video for putting together and read the instruction manual. Everything you need is supplied including the tools to assemble. The only thing wrong was the tire pump that I received, the nozzle does not seal so it leaks. Otherwise a great value for the money. Now trying to get used to it.

So Much Fun!

I haven't ridden a bike in 5 years. Locally we have a place that rents ebikes and my best friend and I rented them for fun while she was visiting last month. I was hooked! So easy to start with the throttle feature - and you can pedal as intensely or not as you wish. The bike arrived quickly and in perfect condition. The Youtube video provided the support we needed to be able to finish the assembly ourselves.

Smooth Ride on Rough Terrain!

The fat tires on the Ranger absorb shocks and bumps exceptionally well. I feel confident riding on uneven trails and rocky paths.
