Philodo Forester Overview

The Philodo Forester runs the same drive as the Falcon: a 2000W hub motor in each wheel, 5000W at peak, 2 x 105 N.m, switchable between single and dual motor. Full suspension too, a lockout fork and a rear air shock. Philodo puts it at 40 to 45 MPH.

The battery is a 60V 25Ah, 1500Wh pack, good for 50 to 70 miles by Philodo’s estimate and charged in 8 to 9 hours. The 18 inch step over frame fits riders 5'5" to 6'5" and carries 330 lb. Hydraulic brakes front and rear, a 700 lumen headlight with a horn, a brake light, fenders, mirrors and a rack are fitted.

Three colours. If you want the bigger battery or a step thru, that is the Falcon.

Built to be lived with

A 6061 aluminium 18 inch frame on 26 x 4 Chaoyang puncture resistant tires. Lockout front fork, rear air shock, Prowheel 52T crank and a soft ergonomic saddle.

A colour display, 700 lumen headlight with horn, brake light, brake levers that cut the motors, fenders, mirrors and a rear rack all ship on the bike. Frame, battery and parts are covered for one year.

TWO MOTORS, SWITCH AT THE BAR

A 2000W hub motor in each wheel, each with its own 27A controller, 5000W together at peak and 2 x 105 N.m of torque. All wheel drive: the front pulls while the rear pushes.

You switch between single and dual motor from the handlebar. Single for the road and for range, dual for the climb. Three ways to ride: throttle only, pedal assist, or pedal with no motor at all.

AIR SHOCK, LOCKOUT FORK

Full suspension on a fat tire bike this fast matters more than on a pedal bike. A front fork with a lockout for pavement, and a rear air shock you can pump to your weight, keep the 4 inch tires on the ground.

The battery is a 60V 25Ah pack, 1500 watt hours, removable, charged in 8 to 9 hours by the 67.2V 2.5A charger and rated for 1000 cycles.

Questions before buying

What does dual motor mean?

A 2000W hub motor in each wheel, 5000W together at peak, switchable between single and dual motor modes. Run one motor on the flat to save the battery and both for climbs, sand or mud.

Is 40 to 45 MPH legal?

Not on most public roads. Above 28 MPH this is an off road vehicle in the eyes of US e-bike law, and Philodo says so itself. Ride it on private land and trails that allow it, and use pedal assist or a limited mode on the road. Speed also depends on rider weight, battery charge and terrain.

Forester or Falcon?

Same motors, same suspension, same brakes. The Falcon has a 60V 32Ah battery against the Forester’s 25Ah, a 450 lb payload against 330, and a step thru option. The Forester is $200 less and a little lighter.

What size is it?

One 18 inch frame, which Philodo fits to riders from 5'5" to 6'5".

How long does it charge?

8 to 9 hours on the included 67.2V 2.5A charger, by Philodo.

What is the warranty?

Awesome Bikes

I bought the Upgraded 60V H-8 first and then I got the Jumbo. I alternate using them and get great performance out of both. So far, I am very pleased with everything. The H-8 is fast and light on the trail and powerful and agile on the road. The Jumbo is a better backwoods or gravel trail and utility/hunter, although it gets better mileage than the H-8. Both are fun and both can go beast mode whenever needed, on the street, in the sand. and on the trails. Throughly pleased, so far. Cola is great too.

Purchased the Forester and so far love it. I purchased to use while hunting and while I've only used the bike 4 times it has thus far met my expectations with no problems. I'm 6'3" tall and 260lb and it has taken me everywhere I've wanted to go. I also had an issue that WAS NO FAULT OF PHILODO and I contacted customer support and they took care of my issue without obligation to do so! Highest of remarks for PHILODO! Great bike, and eally easy to assemble. So fun to ride! I've had 3 ebikes, best one so far. The design of this bike is outstanding. It feels solid, no wobbles while riding. The 60V battery and 5000W motor can take you far, fast, and handle any hill. I live on a very steep hill (20-25% grade for 2 miles). It goes up the hill with ease. I discussed it with the Philodo Forester owner, and after going back and forth about 4 or 5 times, we settled on the Forester, and it was the right decision. Outstanding bike and customer service. This will bring me joy for many years to come!

I purchased the falcon not long after getting this and the only difference is the battery life. This will get you there quick and it’s a blast on the trails or the beach.

I purchased the philodo forester and I have really enjoyed the bike for several weeks of daily rides, weather permitting. I'm in a rural area of northern California and have tails, steep hills and road, gravel and paved. I'm over 230 pounds, and put a load on motor and suspension. The performance is very impressive. I'm doing all the standard updates, 203 rotors, 62 tooth chainring, tires, seat, and an additional battery. The bike is offered at a great price point, and can be a good platform for customization. I choose the forester because it looks like a regular bike at a glance and doesn't get as much attention from law enforcement. The falcon offers more range, and you may want to consider that as well.
