Philodo STARX

Philodo STARX Overview

The Philodo STARX is an electric dirt bike, not an e-bike. No pedals: you stand on footpegs and twist a full throttle, and a 3000W rated mid drive motor, 8000W at peak with 280 N.m, drives the rear wheel by chain. Philodo quotes 0 to 30 MPH in 3 seconds and 50 MPH at the top.

The 60V 36Ah battery holds 2160Wh, is UL certified and is good for up to 60 miles by Philodo’s lab figure. An inverted aluminium fork and a coil rear shock carry a 17 inch front and 14 inch rear wheel, with 4 piston hydraulic brakes on 190mm rotors.

It is for private land and off road trails only. Philodo sizes it for riders 4'7" to 6'7", teens included, and a magnetic kill switch on your wrist cuts the motor if you come off. Want a Philodo you can pedal? Start with the Falcon.

Built to be lived with

A high carbon steel frame, an inverted aluminium fork and a rear shock, on a 17 x 3.0 front and 14 x 4.0 rear tire. The seat sits 31.89 inches up, the bar 42.52 inches up and 29.53 inches wide, on a 45.28 inch wheelbase.

A colour display with NFC unlock, a 1500 lumen headlight with three modes and a horn, a rear light with brake light and turn signals, one button reverse and a magnetic kill switch all come on the bike. IPX5 by Philodo, and one year on frame, battery and parts.

3000W RATED, 8000W PEAK

The motor sits low in the middle of the frame and drives the 14 inch rear wheel by chain. It is rated at 3000W and peaks at 8000W, with 280 N.m of torque through a 60V 100A controller. Rated is what it holds under steady load; peak is the burst when you twist the throttle open.

Philodo quotes 0 to 30 MPH in 3 seconds and a 45 degree climb. Top speed is 50 MPH, measured by Philodo without load, so a full size rider on a half empty battery will see less. Range is up to 60 miles on Philodo’s lab test.

A KILL SWITCH ON YOUR WRIST

The magnetic kill switch clips to your wrist on a lanyard. Fall or get separated from the bike and it pulls free, cutting motor power at once, which Philodo says stops unintended acceleration. Clip it on before you power up, every ride.

It will not start for just anyone either: it powers on with a tap of your NFC phone or a keypad password, behind what Philodo calls an encrypted anti-theft system. Stopping is 4 piston hydraulic discs on 190 x 3.4mm rotors. One button reverse backs you out of a tight spot without climbing off.

Questions before buying

Is it street legal?

No. Philodo sells the STARX as off road only, not road legal on public roads in most regions. With no pedals and 50 MPH, treat it as a dirt bike, not an e-bike. Ride on private land or authorized off road trails, and check local rules first.

Is it for teens?

Philodo sells it for teens and adults, sized for riders 4'7" to 6'7", but publishes no minimum age. It weighs 142 lb, has a 31.89 inch seat and reaches 50 MPH, so a young rider needs full protective gear, supervision and private land. Check your state’s rules for young riders.

How far and how fast does it go?

Up to 60 miles and 50 MPH by Philodo, and both are best case: the range is lab tested and the top speed is measured without load. Rider weight, terrain, tire pressure and hard throttle all bring them down. A full charge takes 5 to 6 hours.

Does it arrive assembled?

Partially. You fit the front wheel, handlebar, brake lever, display, front fender, footpegs and taillight, then adjust, with the basic tools Philodo puts in the box. The bike weighs 142 lb, so have a second person help lift it out, and photograph any box damage before you unpack.

Can I ride it in the rain?

Yes. Philodo rates the whole bike IPX5, so heavy rain, mud splashes and water jets are fine. Do not ride through deep water or submerge it: Philodo does not cover submersion damage under the warranty. Keep the battery dry and charge it between 32 and 113°F, per its label.

What is the warranty?

Philodo covers the frame, battery and parts for one year from delivery against manufacturing defects, for the original owner. Crashes, stunt riding, racing, submersion, the wrong charger, non Philodo parts and normal wear are excluded. We are an authorized dealer, so the warranty applies in full.
