The Solé All Terrain 27.5 is an 8 speed all terrain bike on 27.5 inch knobby tires, sized for riders from 5 foot 5 to 6 foot. Solé builds it around a gusseted aluminum frame with a high tensile steel fork, a Shimano Tourney TX derailleur and Tektro disc brakes front and rear.
It is made for the mixed ride: city streets, gravel paths, light dirt trails and the hills between them. The 13T to 32T freewheel gives you a low gear for the climbs, and the wide 630mm bars and MTB lock on grips keep it steady when the surface turns loose. It weighs 30.3 lb.
This is the larger of the two All Terrain sizes: a 17.25 inch frame with a 31 inch minimum inseam. Shorter riders, or anyone with a shorter leg, should look at the All Terrain 26. Both come in the green Mulholland and the white Topanga.
Complete on day one, and backed for years
It comes complete: 8 speed Shimano gearing, Tektro disc brakes at both ends, knobby Kylin tires on double walled rims, a comfort foam saddle and wide alloy bars. It comes 90% assembled, with the tools and instructions to finish the job.
Solé covers the frame and fork for five years against defects in material and workmanship, for the original owner. We are an authorized Solé dealer, so it is Solé's own warranty.
A Shimano Tourney TX derailleur runs an 8 speed freewheel from 13T to 32T, driven by a 32T chainring on 170mm cranks. The big cog is for the steep pitch and the loose climb. The small one is for the flat road home.
The chain is a Rust Buster, 3/32 inch wide, and the bottom bracket turns on sealed bearings, a 118mm square taper. Tektro disc brakes sit at both ends, so the stopping power comes with you onto gravel and dirt.

The alloy bars are 630mm end to end, wide enough to steer with real leverage when the surface turns to gravel, and the MTB lock on grips clamp in place. Solé shaped the bike for a natural riding posture that reduces strain on longer rides.
You sit on a comfort foam contour saddle on a 27.2mm seatpost, 370mm long, so there is room to set your height. Both brake levers are on the bar, working Tektro discs front and rear.

Go by Solé's sizing chart. The 27.5 has a 17.25 inch frame for riders 5 foot 5 to 6 foot, with a 31 inch minimum inseam. The All Terrain 26 has a 16.5 inch frame for riders 5 foot to 5 foot 5, with a 27 inch minimum inseam. Solé says inseam matters more than height, and if you sit on the cusp, take the smaller size. So at 5 foot 5, this bike only makes sense if your inseam is 31 inches or more.
Measure your inseam: stand on the floor and measure straight up to your groin. Solé lists a 31 inch minimum for this frame and wants at least 1 inch of clearance over the top bar with your feet flat. The top tube sits 27 inches high by the seat tube, 29.75 at the centre and 32.75 by the head tube.
That is what it is for. Solé built it for city streets, light dirt trails and challenging hills, and lists pavement, gravel and all terrain riding. The 8 speed Shimano runs from 13T to 32T for the climbs, and the knobby Kylin tires give you grip in dirt and gravel.
Tektro hand pull disc brakes, front and rear, worked by levers on the bar. There is no coaster brake, so pedalling backwards does not stop the bike.
It comes 90% assembled, with the tools and instructions in the box. Solé says you fit the pedals and handlebars, put in the front wheel and the seat, and pump up the tires. Solé suggests having a local bike shop check it over, but you can do it yourself.
Solé gives a suggested weight capacity of 275 lb for its bicycles. The All Terrain 27.5 itself weighs 30.3 lb.
