The Solé Coastal Cruiser is Solé's take on the traditional beach cruiser. It is built for the boardwalk bike path, campus riding and short trips around the neighborhood, designed in house in Venice Beach, California.
It is a single speed bike with a coaster brake, so you pedal backwards to stop. An extra wide cruiser handlebar and a cushioned comfort saddle sit you upright, which keeps your back, shoulders and neck relaxed. A chain guard and a kickstand come with it.
The frame and fork are high tensile steel, fully Tig welded, rolling on 26 inch balloon tires. It weighs 32 lb and comes in one size for riders 5 foot 4 and up. Solé rates it for pavement, flat roads and some hills. If your rides are steep, look at a bike with gears.
Simple by design
Every Coastal Cruiser comes with a coaster brake, a chain guard, a kickstand, Solé's cushioned Coastal Cruiser comfort saddle and an extra wide alloy cruiser bar. One gear, so there is no shifter, no derailleur and no brake cable to look after.
Solé covers the frame and fork for five years against material and workmanship defects, for the original owner. We are an authorized Solé Bicycles dealer, so it is Solé's own warranty.
The brake lives inside the rear hub. Pedal backwards and it slows you down. There is no lever on the bar and no cable to stretch.
It pairs with a single gear: a one piece crankset with a 44T chainring and a 20 tooth cog, on a KMC chain. Easy to live with on flat ground, and a chain guard keeps your trouser leg clear.

The extra wide cruiser handlebar comes back toward you, so you ride upright instead of leaning over. Your back, shoulders and neck stay comfortable on a slow ride along the water.
Solé's Coastal Cruiser comfort saddle is extra cushioned, and the Gripmasters grips carry a woodgrain deboss. It is a beach cruiser made for easy miles, not for speed.

High tensile steel, fully Tig welded, with a long curved top tube.

An alloy bar that sweeps back for an upright, relaxed riding position.

26 x 2.1 inch tires on 36mm alloy rims, with Schrader valves.

A chain guard cover over the drive side keeps clothes off the chain.

Park it upright at the beach, the bike rack or the front porch.

It comes in one size, designed for riders 5 foot 4 and up, with a minimum inseam of 32 inches and a top tube height of 31 inches. Solé says inseam matters more than height, and you want at least an inch of clearance over the top bar with your feet flat on the floor. If you are under 5 foot 4, Solé strongly recommends getting sized at a bike shop first, or look at the Step Through Coastal Cruiser.
You coast as normal, and when you want to slow down or stop you pedal backwards. The brake is inside the rear hub, so there are no hand levers or cables. Solé fits a coaster brake on all of its City Cruiser and Coastal Cruiser bikes.
No. Solé fits flip flop hubs to its fixed gear and single speed bikes. The Coastal Cruiser uses a coaster brake hub, so it is a single speed that coasts and brakes when you pedal backwards. For a flip flop hub, see the Solé Single Speed / Fixed Gear.
Solé rates it for pavement, flat roads and some hills. It is a single speed bike made for cruising on flat terrain, so steep or hilly routes are hard work. For more range, browse the Solé Bicycles collection, including the Three Speed City Cruiser.
It comes 90% assembled. You screw in the pedals and handlebars, fit the front wheel, drop in the seat and put air in the tires. The tools come in the box. Solé suggests a local bike shop check it over, but you can do it yourself.
Solé's suggested weight capacity is 275 lb. The bike itself weighs 32 lb.
