The Solé Three Speed Dutch Step Through is a three speed Dutch bike for town riding with hills in it. The frame is high tensile steel, fully TIG welded, with Solé's swooping step through shape, so getting on and off is easy.
The gears live inside a Shimano Nexus internal three speed hub, worked by an easy to use shifter at the bar. That lets you ride longer distances and power up moderate hills. Alloy dual pivot hand brakes work front and rear, on hinged alloy levers.
You sit upright on an extra padded riveted saddle behind swept back city cruiser bars, on 700 x 35c tires. It weighs 29 lb, comes in one size for riders 5 foot 4 and up, and arrives with a chain guard cover and a kickstand.
Simple parts, backed by Solé
Every Three Speed Dutch Step Through comes with a chain guard cover and a kickstand, an extra padded riveted saddle, swept back city cruiser bars and Solé faux leather Gripmasters Leather Edition grips. The gears sit inside a Shimano Nexus hub, and alloy dual pivot brakes stop it front and rear.
Solé covers the frame and fork for five years against material and workmanship defects, for the original owner. Components, paint and decals sit outside that cover. Belcopia Bikes is an authorized Solé dealer, so it is Solé's own warranty.
A single speed is fine until the road tips up. The Shimano Nexus hub gives you three gears inside the rear hub, and the shifter sits at the bar.
Solé rates this three speed bike for pavement, flat ground, some hills and hilly terrain, a step up from the single speed Dutch Step Through. It comes with a chain guard cover and a kickstand.

Where the single speed Dutch Step Through uses a coaster brake, this one has alloy dual pivot hand brakes front and rear. Hinged alloy levers sit on the bars, so you brake with your hands and control your speed with both wheels.
The cockpit is still simple. Swept back city cruiser bars bring the grips back toward you for an upright ride, with the shifter beside the right grip and the brake levers in reach.

One size. Solé fits it to riders 5 foot 4 and up, with a minimum inseam of 28 1/4 inches and a top tube height of 27 1/4 inches. Inseam matters more than height: you want at least an inch of clearance over the top bar with your feet flat on the ground. If you are under 5 foot 4, Solé strongly recommends getting sized at a bike shop before you buy.
Hand brakes. Solé fits alloy dual pivot brakes front and rear, on hinged alloy levers, and lists no coaster brake on this bike. If you would rather pedal backwards to stop, the single speed Dutch Step Through has a coaster brake.
The three gears sit inside a Shimano Nexus internal hub at the back wheel, and you change them with the shifter on the bar. Solé says it lets you handle longer distances and power up moderate hills.
Yes, within reason. Solé rates it for pavement, flat ground, some hills and hilly terrain. It is not built for gravel, all terrain riding or mountains.
It arrives 90% assembled, with the tools and instructions to finish the job. Solé says you screw in the pedals and the handlebars, fit the front wheel, drop in the seatpost and pump up the tires. Solé also suggests having a local bike shop look it over, though you can do it yourself.
Solé lists it at 29 lb (13.1 kg). The suggested weight capacity Solé gives for its bicycles is 275 lb. See every Solé model in our Solé Bicycles collection.
