The State Bicycle Co. 4130 is the redesigned version of the steel line that built the brand: a double butted 4130 chromoly single speed bike with a TIG welded wishbone rear that clears wide 38c rubber as standard. The Hammered Powder Coat finish is exactly what it sounds like, a deep textured coat that catches light differently from every angle.
A sealed bearing flip-flop hub lets you run it as a fixed gear bike or coast as a single speed, and fork plus seat stay rack mounts turn it into a genuine commuter. City streets, gravel paths and light trails are all in range on one simple, reliable drivetrain.

REDESIGNED TO CLEAR 38C
The Wishbone Rear End
Classic track frames pinch the rear tire between narrow stays, which is why most fixed gear bikes ride harshly on anything but smooth roads. The redesigned 4130 uses a TIG welded wishbone rear triangle that opens the frame up to 700 x 38c tires as standard, with a recommended maximum of 45c.
Horizontal dropouts with integrated chain tensioners keep the wheel square in the frame and chain tension set without wrestling the axle. It is the detail that makes single speed ownership genuinely low effort.

Flip-Flop Hub with 16T Freewheel and Fixed Cog
The sealed bearing flip-flop hub ships with both a 16T freewheel and a 16T fixed cog. Run it fixed for the direct, connected ride, or flip the wheel and coast as a single speed. The 46x16 gear ratio is tuned for city riding: quick off the line, comfortable at cruising speed.
Long reach brake calipers front and rear come fitted, so the bike is street ready in either mode from day one.

Hammered Powder Coat Finish
A textured, hammered-effect powder coat over the whole frame and fork. It reads as a different colour in sun, shade and street light, and hides scuffs far better than gloss paint.
Choose Your Cockpit
All-Road flared gravel drops (500mm at the drops, 18 degree flare) or 600mm wide risers with 30mm rise. Pick the riding position when you order, at no extra cost.
Tubeless-Capable Wheelset
Tubeless capable 700c rims with a CNC machined sidewall, 28mm deep and 18mm internal, on sealed bearing flip-flop hubs. The stock 38c tyres are tubed and not tubeless rated, so add rim tape, sealant and tubeless tyres to convert.
Rack Mounts Front and Rear
Fork and seat stay mounts take standard racks, so the bike carries groceries, panniers or a commuter load without clamps or workarounds.
Steel Forged 46t Crank
A 130 BCD steel forged crank with 170mm arms driving a 46x16 ratio. Simple, strong, and geared for real streets rather than the velodrome.
Long-Reach Caliper Brakes
Long reach calipers front and rear, fitted before it ships. The extra reach is what allows rim brakes on a frame built around 38c tyres.

WHY THIS BUILD MATTERS
Chromoly, Not Hi-Ten
Double butted 4130 chromoly is the upgrade over the hi-tensile steel used on entry fixies: lighter tubing where the frame does not need bulk, more strength where it does, and a noticeably smoother ride.
38c Changes What It Can Do
Stock 700 x 38c tires with clearance to 45c turn a street bike into an any-surface bike. Gravel paths and rough pavement stop being detours.

Which size should I choose?
46cm fits riders 5 feet 3 to 5 feet 6 (26.5 to 28.5 inch inseam), 49cm fits 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 8, 52cm fits 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 10, 55cm fits 5 feet 9 to 6 feet, 59cm fits 5 feet 11 to 6 feet 3, and 62cm fits 6 feet 2 to 6 feet 7. The full geometry chart above has every measurement.
Can I ride it as a single speed instead of fixed gear?
Yes. The flip-flop hub ships with a 16T freewheel on one side and a 16T fixed cog on the other. Flip the rear wheel to switch between coasting and fixed riding.
How wide a tire can I fit?
It ships on 700 x 38c tires, and State recommends up to 45c. Riders have fitted 50c and larger, but that depends on the wheel, tire brand and tread profile, so measure before buying wider rubber.
Are the wheels tubeless?
The rims are tubeless capable, but the stock 38c tires are not tubeless rated and the wheels ship without tape and sealant. Converting takes rim tape, sealant and tubeless ready tires.
Does it come with brakes and pedals?
Yes to both. Long reach brake calipers are fitted front and rear, and platform pedals are included, so the out-of-box build is complete.
Can I mount a rack?
Yes. The fork and the seat stays both carry rack mounts, which is one of the biggest practical upgrades of this redesigned frame over classic track style fixies.
