Ausom DT2 Pro Overview
The Ausom DT2 Pro is a dual motor electric scooter. Each wheel has its own 1100W hub motor, 2912W together at peak, and the battery is 52V 23.4Ah. Ausom rates it at 40 MPH and up to 71 miles.
It rides on a dual swingarm with adjustable suspension and 10 x 3 inch all terrain tires, and stops on hydraulic disc brakes front and rear with electronic braking. It folds at the stem and carries riders up to 297 lb.
It comes preset to 40 MPH or to 15 MPH, same scooter and price. At 74 lb, it is a lot to carry up stairs every day.
Built to be lived with
A 6061 aluminium frame on a dual swingarm with adjustable suspension, a 20.7 x 7 inch deck and a 27 inch handlebar. Hydraulic discs front and rear, plus EABS that brakes with the motors.
A 4.5 inch LCD, a headlight, a taillight and light strips on the stem and deck, and unlocking by NFC card or passcode. The frame is covered for two years, the motor, controller and display for one, the battery for six months.
BOTH WHEELS PULL
Each wheel has its own 1100W hub motor, 1456W at peak and 2912W together, with 32 N.m of torque. Ausom rates the DT2 Pro at 40 MPH and a 36% grade.
There are three speed modes and a choice of one motor or two. One motor saves battery on the flat, and both help on starts and climbs. The hidden menu can also set a lower top speed.

RIDE THE LONG WAY HOME
The battery is 52V 23.4Ah, 1216.8 watt hours. Ausom’s 71 miles is measured on one motor at 9.3 MPH with a 165 lb rider on flat, dry pavement. Ride both motors at speed and expect a good deal less.
One 58.8V 2A charger comes in the box. Ausom puts a full charge at 6.5 to 13 hours, and the short end takes a second charger on the second port.

ROUGH GROUND, STEADY RIDE
Each wheel sits on a swingarm with a coil spring shock, and the damping adjusts. Set it firmer for a heavier rider or rough ground.
The 10 x 3 inch tires have deep tread and reinforced sidewalls and run at 50 PSI. Ausom calls them tubeless and puncture resistant.

Controls
Three modes, one or two motors
A pad by the grip holds the power, plus and minus buttons. Ausom gives it three speed modes and a choice of one motor or two, and cruise control is a setting in the hidden menu.

Lighting
Lit front, back and sides
A headlight and a light strip on the stem, a red taillight, and light strips down both sides of the deck.

Charging
Two charging ports
Two plugs for chargers and one charger in the box. Buy a second charger and plug in both to cut the charging time roughly in half.

Folding
Folds in three steps
The stem folds down to the deck in three steps, and the folded size is 52 by 27 by 21.6 inches. At 74 lb, plan to roll it more than carry it.

Wide deck
A 20.7 by 7 inch deck
Room for a staggered stance, rated for riders up to 297 lb.

Anti theft
NFC lock and an AirTag mount
It will not start until you tap one of its three NFC cards on the display, tap a linked phone, or type a 4 digit code. A hidden mount holds an Apple AirTag for tracking; the AirTag is not included.
Size and dimensions
Fits riders 4'11" to 6'7" and carries up to 297 lb, per Ausom.

Questions before buying
40 MPH or 15 MPH?+
Both versions are the same scooter at the same price. The only difference is the top speed it comes set to. Many cities cap scooters well below 40 MPH, so pick the version your local rules allow. Ausom sells it for riders 16 and over.
How far does it really go on a charge?+
Ausom’s 71 miles comes from a gentle test: one motor on, a steady 9.3 MPH, a 165 lb rider, flat dry pavement and mild weather. Ride faster, use both motors, climb hills or weigh more and you will get a fraction of that. Tom’s Gadget Garage runs a real world range test in the videos below.
Why does it have two charging ports?+
The scooter has two plugs for chargers, and one charger comes in the box. With one charger, a full charge takes up to about 13 hours. If you buy a second charger from Ausom and plug both in at once, it takes about 6.5 hours. You never need the second charger; it only makes charging faster.
How do I turn it on? Is there an app?+
There is no app. The scooter has a built in lock. To start it, you tap one of the three NFC cards from the box on the display, the way you tap a hotel key card, or type a 4 digit code on the display. Without the card or the code, the scooter will not run, which is what stops a thief riding it away. Settings such as a speed limit are changed on the display itself.
Can I ride it in the rain?+
Puddles, splashes and a wet road are fine. The scooter is rated IP54, which means it is sealed against splashes from any direction, and the battery is sealed a step better at IPX5. Riding in actual rain is something Ausom tells you not to do, and water damage to the battery, motor or controller is not covered by the warranty. If it is raining, wait it out.
What is the warranty?+
Different parts are covered for different lengths of time. The frame is covered for two years. The motor, controller, display, throttle, brakes, folding parts, handlebar and lights are covered for one year. The battery and charger are covered for six months, the wheels for 30 days, and the tires, tubes and grips for 14 days. Crashes, modifications and water damage to the battery, motor or controller are not covered. We are an authorized dealer, so the warranty applies.
