Eunorau FAT AWD 2.0 Overview
The Eunorau FAT AWD 2.0 is a fat tire hardtail with a 500W hub motor in each wheel. A three position switch at the bars picks the rear motor, the front motor or both, and Eunorau rates the pair at 110 N.m. It is the lower priced of the two Eunorau all wheel drive bikes we carry.
Kenda Krusade Sport 26 x 4.0 inch tires, an RST Guide fork with 95mm of travel and Shimano 7 speed gearing carry it over gravel roads, sand, snow and moderate trails. It is a Class 2 electric bike with a 20 MPH top speed, and Eunorau lists the 48V 15Ah LG cell battery as UL certified.
Built to be lived with
A 6061 aluminium step over frame, hydraulic disc brakes on 180mm rotors, LED lights front and rear, and a BC182 LCD that pairs with the EUNORAU GO app. It comes without a rack or fenders.
Eunorau covers the motor, battery and electrical parts for 24 months and the frame for 10 years.
MADE FOR SAND AND SNOW
Four inch Kenda Krusade Sport tires spread the load on soft ground, and Eunorau describes them as puncture resistant. Eunorau says the FAT AWD has become a favourite with hunters for hauling game back to the truck.
It is a hardtail. The back is rigid, so on rough trails the fat rear tire does the cushioning. For full suspension and bigger motors, the Eunorau Defender S 2.0 is the step up.
Eunorau rates it for 375 lb of rider and cargo and fits the step over frame to riders 5'3" to 6'1". It weighs 81.5 lb, so plan the truck bed or rack before the first trip.

FRONT, REAR OR BOTH
With a motor in each wheel, the front tire pulls while the rear one pushes. Eunorau says that gives better grip and control on sand, snow, gravel and other loose ground, and more pull on climbs and starts.
The switch sits at the bars. Flip it up for the rear motor, down for the front motor, and leave it in the middle to run both. On pavement, run one motor: Eunorau suggests a single motor for everyday riding because it goes further on a charge.

ROOM FOR A SECOND BATTERY
It ships with one 48V 15Ah battery, about 720Wh. Eunorau sells an optional second 15Ah battery and rates the bike at up to 80 miles with both; it does not publish a range for one battery.
Two motors running together use more power than one, so expect fewer miles in AWD than on a single motor. The battery charges in 5 to 7 hours on the 2A charger, per Eunorau.

What it's made of
Four things that set it apart. Tap through them.

Drive switch
Front, rear or both
Flip the switch up for the rear motor, down for the front motor, and leave it in the middle to run both. One motor saves battery on the road; two help in sand and snow.

Display
LCD plus the app
The BC182 LCD shows speed, battery and assist level. The EUNORAU GO app adds trip records, calorie tracking and software updates.

Fork
RST Guide, 95mm
An RST Guide suspension fork with 95mm of travel takes the hits up front, with the LED headlight mounted at the crown.

Gears
Shimano 7 speed
A Shimano 7 speed thumb shifter and a 42 tooth chainring give low gears for loose climbs and taller ones for the road.

Questions before buying
FAT AWD 2.0 or Defender S 2.0?+
Both are Eunorau dual motor fat tire bikes for hunting and loose ground. The FAT AWD 2.0 is the lower priced hardtail: two 500W hub motors, a 95mm RST fork, a rigid rear and a 48V 15Ah battery. The Defender S 2.0 costs more and adds four bar full suspension, two 750W motors, a torque sensor and a 48V 17Ah battery.
What does the dual motor setup do?+
The front and rear 500W hub motors give all wheel drive, which helps with starts, hills and grip on sand, snow, gravel and other loose ground. Eunorau rates the pair at 110 N.m.
Do I need to use both motors all the time?+
No. The switch at the bars picks the rear motor, the front motor or both. Eunorau suggests one motor for everyday riding and better battery use, and both when you need extra pull or traction.
How far does it go?+
Eunorau rates it at up to 80 miles with its optional second 15Ah battery. It does not publish a figure for the single 48V 15Ah battery (about 720Wh) the bike comes with. Terrain, rider weight, weather, assist level and running one or two motors all change it.
What terrain is it for?+
Eunorau names pavement, gravel roads, sand, snow and moderate off road trails. The 26 x 4.0 inch tires and the 95mm fork handle that; the rear is rigid, so it is not a full suspension trail bike.
Is it good for hunting?+
Eunorau says hunters use it to haul game back to their vehicles. All wheel drive helps on sand, snow and loose ground, and Maple is a camo print. It comes without a rack, so add one for gear.
Is it street legal?+
Eunorau lists it as a Class 2 electric bike with a 20 MPH top speed. Most states treat Class 2 like a bicycle, but rules vary by state and town, so check yours before riding on roads or paths.
How much can it carry?+
Eunorau rates it for 375 lb in total, counting the rider, the cargo and any accessories.
Can I add a rack and fenders?+
Eunorau lists a rack and fender set that fits the FAT AWD 2.0, sold separately. The bike comes without them.
Who does it fit?+
Eunorau fits the step over frame to riders 5'3" to 6'1", with the saddle 31.5 to 39 inches off the ground. The stem adjusts for comfort.
Does it arrive assembled?+
Not fully. It comes with tools for the last steps, and Eunorau has an unboxing video for the FAT AWD 2.0. It weighs 81.5 lb, so get help lifting it out of the box, and photograph any box damage before you unpack.
What does UL certified mean?+
It means the battery was tested by an independent lab against a published safety standard for electrical and fire risk, which matters for a battery you charge at home. Eunorau lists the FAT AWD 2.0 battery as UL certified.
What is the warranty?+
Eunorau covers the motor, battery and electrical parts for 24 months and the frame for 10 years, for the original owner. Wear parts such as brake pads, rotors, tires, chains and grips are not covered, and neither are crashes, stunt riding or racing. Eunorau asks you to register the bike right after purchase and to have it checked by a Eunorau dealer after the first year. We are an authorized dealer, so the warranty applies.
Raven or Maple?+
Same bike. Raven is black; Maple is a camo print over the frame and costs $100 more.
