The Velowave Ranger 3.0 is a step over fat tire e-bike with a torque sensor: a 750W rear hub motor that peaks at 1000W and makes 85 N.m, and a removable 48V 15Ah LG battery, 720Wh, inside the down tube. Velowave quotes an average of 65 miles on pedal assist and up to 90 in level 1.
Velowave rates it Class 3: up to 28 MPH on pedal assist and 20 MPH on the throttle, which works from a complete stop. A hydraulic fork with 60mm of travel and a lockout, Kenda 26 x 4.0 inch fat tires, hydraulic disc brakes on 180mm rotors and a Shimano 7 speed carry it from city streets to dirt trails. It weighs 82.67 lb with the battery and carries 300 lb.
A rear rack, fenders, a 75 lux LED headlight and a 20 lux brake light come fitted. One size fits riders from about 5'4" to 6'5". Want a lower step? The Ranger Step-Thru 3.0 has the same motor, battery and torque sensor.

A 6061 aluminium frame with the battery inside, a hydraulic suspension fork with 60mm of travel and a lockout, hydraulic disc brakes on 180mm rotors with a motor cut off, a Shimano 7 speed RevoShift with an ARDTY500D derailleur and a 14 to 28 tooth freewheel, 170mm cranks with a 52 tooth chainring, and Kenda 26 x 4.0 inch tires on 36 hole aluminium rims with nutted axles.
An aluminium rear rack, 110mm wide fenders, a 75 lux LED headlight, a 20 lux brake light, a colour TFT display, a wide comfort saddle and an alloy kickstand all come on the bike. Velowave covers the frame and electronics for two years, the battery for two years or 300 charge cycles, and mechanical parts for one.
The 750W rear hub motor peaks at 1000W and makes 85 N.m. A torque sensor reads how hard you press the pedals and adds power in proportion, so the bike pulls away gently from a light push and digs in when you stand on it up a hill. Five assist levels are set on the colour TFT display.
The throttle works from a complete stop and holds up to 20 MPH. On pedal assist the Ranger 3.0 reaches 28 MPH, which Velowave rates as Class 3. Paths and trails set their own rules, so check where you ride.

Kenda 26 x 4.0 inch fat tires grip on loose ground and roll over roots and cracked pavement, and a 60mm hydraulic fork with a lockout takes the edge off the bumps. The step over frame is 6061 aluminium with a 753mm standover, and one size fits riders from about 5'4" to 6'5" with a 30 to 36 inch inseam.
The 48V 15Ah LG battery comes out of the frame to charge indoors on the 48V 2A charger in about 8 hours. Velowave quotes an average of 65 miles on pedal assist, up to 90 in level 1 and 30 on the throttle, measured with a 165 lb load on level ground.

Velowave quotes an average of 65 miles on pedal assist, up to 90 miles in level 1 and about 30 miles on the throttle alone, measured with a 165 lb load on level ground at 86 degrees. Hills, headwind, cold, a heavier load and the higher assist levels all bring it down.
Yes. The throttle works on demand, from a complete stop, up to 20 MPH. On pedal assist the bike reaches 28 MPH, and Velowave rates it Class 3. Paths and trails set their own rules, so check where you ride.
The Ranger 3.0 uses a torque sensor, so the 750W rear hub motor adds power in proportion to how hard you press. The Ranger 2.0 uses a cadence sensor, which gives the set level of power once the pedals turn. The torque sensor feels more like a normal bike.
The Ranger 3.0 comes in one size, a 16.7 inch frame, for riders from about 5'4" to 6'5" with a 30 to 36 inch inseam. The standover is 753mm and the seat adjusts from 823mm to 1012mm. For a lower step, look at the Ranger Step-Thru 3.0.
About 8 hours on the 48V 2A charger that comes with the bike. The 48V 15Ah LG battery comes out of the frame, so you can charge it indoors.
Velowave covers the frame and the electronics (motor, controller, display, charger and throttle) for two years, the battery for two years or 300 charge cycles, whichever comes first, and mechanical parts for one year, against manufacturing defects. We are an authorized dealer, so it applies.
