Eunorau R1 Overview
The Eunorau R1 is an electric dirt bike, not a bicycle. No pedals: you stand on footpegs, twist the throttle, and a 72V 4,000W mid motor, 8,000W at peak, drives the rear wheel by chain. Eunorau rates it at 55 MPH.
Two sizes, one motor. The Compact rides on 17 and 16 inch wheels with a 30.7 inch seat; the Full Size runs 19 inch wheels for riders 5'2" to 6'4". Both carry a removable 72V 35Ah battery, good for up to 75 miles under 16 MPH by Eunorau's figure, and Eunorau lists the Full Size battery as UL certified.
Off road only. Want more power? The Eunorau R1+ peaks at 17,000W and reaches 59 MPH.
Built to be lived with
An aluminium alloy 6061 frame, a Fastace fork with 203mm of travel, an 85mm coil rear shock and 4 piston hydraulic brakes on 203mm rotors, with levers that cut the motor.
A square LED headlight, a brake light, a horn and USB and Type C ports on both sizes. IP65 by Eunorau, and 24 months on the motor, battery and electrical parts.
TWO SIZES, ONE MOTOR
Both sizes run the same 72V mid motor: 4,000W rated and 8,000W at peak, driving the rear wheel by chain. Eunorau rates the R1 at 55 MPH, and the Full Size at a 50 degree climb.
Rated is what the motor holds under steady load; peak is the burst when you open the throttle. Two modes, Eco and Sport, sit at the left grip, and the brake levers cut the motor the moment you squeeze them.

A UL CERTIFIED BATTERY
Eunorau lists UL certification for the Full Size battery. That means the pack was tested by an independent lab against a published safety standard for electrical and fire risk. Eunorau's Compact listing does not mention UL, so we do not claim it there.
Both sizes use a removable 72V 35Ah battery of LG cells that lifts out of the frame to charge indoors. The 72V 10A charger in the box refills it in about 4 hours, by Eunorau.

RAIN, MUD AND SPLASHES
Eunorau rates the R1 IP65: sealed against dust and against water jets from any direction. Rain, mud and the odd shallow splash are what it is built for.
Deep water is different. Do not ride through it or let the bike sit in it: Eunorau's warranty does not cover damage from abnormal exposure to liquid.

Four things that set it apart. Tap through them.

Controls
Eco and Sport
Sport and Eco buttons sit beside the display at the left grip. Eco is for easy, efficient trail riding; Sport gives the full 55 MPH and adds regen, which Eunorau says recovers energy as you slow.

Headlight
A square LED headlight
A square LED headlight sits above the R1 number plate, for rides that run past sunset.

Brake light
A brake light out back
A red LED under the rear fender comes on when you brake, so the rider behind you knows.

Charging ports
USB and Type C ports
A USB port and a Type C port, 5V at 2400mA, under a rubber cap. They keep a phone or a GPS charged on the trail.

Questions before buying
Compact or Full Size?+
Same motor, battery and price. The Compact sits lower, with 17 and 16 inch wheels and a 30.7 inch seat, and Eunorau pitches it at youth and average height riders. The Full Size runs 19 inch wheels and fits riders 5'2" to 6'4". Eunorau lists UL certification for the Full Size battery only.
R1 or R1+?+
The R1 peaks at 8,000W and reaches 55 MPH. The R1+ is Full Size only and steps up to 17,000W at peak, 500 N.m of torque, 59 MPH and a bigger 72V 40Ah battery, for more money. If this is your first dirt bike, the R1 is plenty.
What does UL certified mean?+
It means the battery was tested by an independent lab against a published safety standard for electrical and fire risk, which matters for a 72V battery you charge in the garage. Eunorau lists the Full Size battery as UL certified; its Compact listing does not mention UL.
Is it street legal?+
No. Eunorau sells the R1 as an off road dirt bike. It has no pedals and reaches 55 MPH, so it is not an electric bicycle under any state's rules. Ride it on private land or on trails that allow dirt bikes, and check your local rules first.
How fast and how far does it go?+
Eunorau rates both sizes at 55 MPH and up to 75 miles, and the range figure is measured under 16 MPH. Rider weight, hills, soft ground and a heavy throttle hand all bring it down, so plan on a good deal less when you ride it hard.
How long does it take to charge?+
About 4 hours from empty with the 72V 10A charger in the box, by Eunorau. The battery lifts out of the frame, so it can charge indoors while the bike stays in the garage.
Does it arrive assembled?+
Not fully. It comes in one box with a tool kit, and Eunorau posts assembly videos for the last steps. The bike weighs 130 lb, so have a second person there to lift it out, and photograph any box damage before you unpack.
Can I ride it in the rain?+
Yes. Eunorau rates the R1 IP65, sealed against dust and against water jets from any direction, so rain, mud and puddles are fine. Do not ride through deep water or submerge it: Eunorau's warranty does not cover damage from abnormal exposure to liquid.
What is the warranty?+
Eunorau covers the motor, battery and electrical parts for 24 months, for the original owner. Wear parts such as brake pads, rotors, tires, chains and grips are not covered, and neither are crashes, stunt riding or racing. Eunorau asks you to register the bike right after purchase and to have it checked by a Eunorau dealer after the first year. We are an authorized dealer, so the warranty applies.
Is this the same bike as the Rerode R1?+
Yes. Eunorau sells it as the Eunorau x Rerode R1, and the bike carries both names on its panels. Reviewers mostly call it the Rerode R1.
Which colours come in which size?+
The Compact comes in Black, Silver and Camo. The Full Size comes in Black, Silver and Maple. Camo and Maple are camo prints on the frame and panels.
