State Bicycle Co. Carbon Road
Midnight. Translucent Carbon Weave. Wireless and Ready.
"A Race Frame You Can Actually Live With."
The State Carbon Road in Midnight is the full carbon platform State has raced at a high level, finished in a way you stop and look at. Midnight is a translucent paint that lets the carbon weave show through. Purposeful, not flashy. Because the finish is translucent over raw carbon, every frame looks slightly different. The race bike. Without the race bike price. Underneath the finish sits a full carbon road and race frame with a T47 threaded bottom bracket, fully internal cable routing, a UDH-compatible derailleur hanger, and clearance for tires up to 32mm.
Shifting is fully wireless. SRAM Rival E1 AXS runs a 2x setup with no derailleur cables to route, snag, or maintain, and the bike rolls on Vittoria Corsa N.EXT 28c tubeless-ready tires. You choose how it rolls underneath you: the 30mm DT Swiss A1800 alloy wheelset, or the 40mm ENVE AR40 carbon upgrade that drops a complete medium to 17 lb 11 oz. Built per size by professional fitters. Ready to point at the next horizon.
"Midnight started with a question. What if the finish told the truth about what is underneath it? Midnight is a translucent paint laid over raw carbon, so the weave shows through and every frame comes out slightly different. The frame is the same carbon platform we have raced at a high level, so nothing about the look softens the ride. Wireless Rival AXS keeps the cockpit clean, and the choice between DT Swiss and ENVE wheels lets the rider decide how light and how fast they want to go."
THIS BIKE IS FOR YOU IF...
- You want a true race platform without giving up tubeless 28c comfort on real-world roads.
- You are done routing and bleeding shift cables. Wireless Rival AXS keeps the cockpit clean.
- You care how a bike looks parked as much as how it rides. Translucent paint over raw carbon weave earns the second glance.
- You want to choose your wheels, not accept whatever was bolted on at the factory.
- You want a bike built to your size by professional fitters, not pulled off a one-size-fits-most shelf.
TRANSLUCENT OVER RAW CARBON.
The Finish Is Part of the Frame
Midnight is a translucent paint laid over raw carbon, so the weave shows through the finish instead of being hidden under it. Purposeful, not flashy. Because the paint is translucent over the weave, every frame looks slightly different. You see exactly what you are riding.
The frame routes every cable internally for a clean line from cockpit to dropout, threads its bottom bracket on a T47 standard for a creak-free interface, and carries a UDH-compatible derailleur hanger so a replacement is easy to find anywhere. The full carbon fork ships with an uncut steerer, set to your fit at assembly.
FULLY WIRELESS. FULLY SRAM RIVAL AXS.
2x Range, No Cables
The Carbon Road runs SRAM Rival E1 AXS, a fully wireless 2x drivetrain. A 48/35t crankset up front pairs with an XG-1250 10-36T 12-speed cassette out back, giving you a tight, usable spread for flat-road speed and the low gears for long climbs.
The Rival AXS E1 MAX 36T rear derailleur and Rival AXS E1 front derailleur are powered by EP Powerpack 2 batteries, with two on the bike. Wireless shifters mean no shift housing, no internal cable runs to bleed, and a cockpit that stays clean. Push the button. It shifts.
*Note: Pedals are not included. The cranks accept any standard 9/16" threaded pedal.

Choose Your Wheels
30mm DT Swiss A1800 alloy at 1,691g, or upgrade to the 40mm ENVE AR40 full carbon at 1,515g. The ENVE saves 176g and brings a complete M to 17 lb 11 oz.
Built Per Size
Professional fitters set crank length, stem length, and bar width per frame size. A Zipp Service Course 70 Ergo bar and Fizik Tempo Aliante R5 saddle finish the cockpit.
WHY THIS BUILD MATTERS
Race-Bred Carbon
The frame is the same full carbon platform State has raced at a high level. T47 threaded BB, internal routing, and a UDH hanger make it stiff, quiet, and easy to live with.
Wireless Simplicity
SRAM Rival E1 AXS removes every shift cable. A 48/35t crank and 10-36T 12-speed cassette deliver the range, with EP Powerpack 2 batteries keeping it running.
Your Wheels, Your Weight
Start on 30mm DT Swiss A1800 alloy or step up to 40mm ENVE AR40 carbon. The ENVE wheelset is 176g lighter and drops a complete M to 17 lb 11 oz.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the DT Swiss and ENVE wheel packages?
The DT Swiss A1800 Spline is a 30mm aero-optimized alloy wheelset at 1,691g, with Aero Comp II straightpull spokes, hidden nipples, and a 370 hub with Ratchet LN instant engagement. The ENVE AR40 upgrade is a 40mm full carbon, F1 wind-tunnel-tested wheelset at 1,515g, 176g lighter, with a patent-pending Wide Hookless Bead and Innerdrive hub. A complete size M weighs 18 lb 5 oz on DT Swiss and 17 lb 11 oz on ENVE.
How does the SRAM Rival AXS drivetrain work?
SRAM Rival E1 is a fully wireless AXS 2x system. The 48/35t crank pairs with an XG-1250 10-36T 12-speed cassette, and the Rival AXS E1 MAX 36T rear derailleur and Rival AXS E1 front derailleur are powered by EP Powerpack 2 batteries. There are no shift cables to route or bleed. The wireless shifters talk directly to the derailleurs.
What size tires can the Carbon Road fit?
The frame clears tires up to 32mm. It ships with Vittoria Corsa N.EXT 28c tubeless-ready tires, which balance grip and comfort on real roads with the rolling speed of a race tire. You can run them tubeless or with tubes.
Does the Carbon Road come with pedals?
No. Pedals are not included. The cranks accept any standard 9/16" threaded pedal, so you can fit the road or clipless pedals you already use. The cockpit is built per size with a Zipp Service Course 70 Ergo bar and a Fizik Tempo Aliante R5 saddle.
Why does the carbon steerer ship uncut?
The full carbon fork ships with an uncut steerer so it can be cut to your exact fit at assembly. A carbon steerer cannot be re-lengthened once it is cut, so the final length is set during professional setup. This is one reason professional assembly is strongly recommended.
Does the Carbon Road require professional assembly?
It ships unassembled from Phoenix, AZ, and professional assembly is strongly recommended. Setup includes crank, wheel, and cockpit installation, cutting the carbon fork steerer to fit, internal routing, derailleur indexing, and brake setup. A certified mechanic ensures the carbon and the hydraulic disc brakes are set up safely.
