Velowave Ranger 2.0 750W Fat Tire All-Terrain Electric Bike

This bike is amazing. I didn’t realize I was getting a different bike than all the videos I’ve seen on YouTube. This bike is an updated version with upgraded features that’s not on the first one. For $1200 you get a bell, front and back fenders, a rear rack, and several other components. This is my second e-bike I’ve owned. My first is a 2016 Radrover which I still own. My Velowave Ranger is really more advanced than my Radrover. The Ranger motor is much more responsive than my Radrover Bafang motor. The Ranger battery life is amazing. I can only get around 20 miles now on my Radrover using mostly the lowest level pedal assist. On my Velowave I have gotten 50 miles using mostly pedal assist with still 20% battery life remaining. Awesome.

This bike is perfect. I love it and even if I want to go faster, I’m able to go into the display and obtain faster speed.

This bike was an easy assembly (a 14yr old did it in under 45min, alone), and it looks awesome. Acceleration and top speed are amazing, and so is the battery. I've gotten to 34 miles per hour when going all-out on max pedal assist and max gear with a full battery, but this might be because I don't weigh much! Everything was perfect, but then the lock switch that needs to be turned to remove the battery broke clean in half.

The lock switch had cracked in two (a cheap plastic piece), and made the battery irremovable. I could still charge it when the battery was in the frame though, so I left it for a few weeks, until one of the wires hooked onto another bike one day at the bike rack, and the wire was yanked out because I hadn't been paying attention. This disconnected the battery, so I had to ride over 3 miles on a dead bike with the resistance of the inactive motor (not reccomended!)

So anyway, with no way to remove the battery and reconnect the wire, the e-bike was just a normal bike, until, after a lot of searching, I found a bike shop that was able to work on electric bikes (several refused to help)! They had to take out the entire battery locking mechanism and reconnect the wire, which was a whopping $200+.

I should mention that I did reach out to customer service in this whole situation, and they were responsive and tried to be helpful, but just couldn't do much. I asked for a new lock switch piece, which they sent for free, but I just didn't end up needing it when the situation was resolved.

So anyway, in the end, a critical and cheap piece broke, a wire was yanked out, and a shop did work on the bike so that it still works with a modification to the battery compartment mechanism. One more thing: the gear change has gotten stuck on me a few times, so when I change gears it sometimes everything locks up and I have to mess with it until it works again! Overall though, I love the bike, and use it almost every day. Great purchase, but be careful with it is all!

First ride was 15miles in flip flops! 28mph is very fast. Bikes are so great. We are excited to get out of the house and explore now that we dont have to worry about loosing steam while riding around. Also bringing camping. Be warned that there is about $1000 of crap you will buy on top of the bikes. Rack for ebikes, seats (a must), fender/tail rack kit, gloves, helmets, etc. Overall, very happy with bikes. And yes, you need to have some mechanical awareness to assemble, have the stuff is not in the instructions, but easy.

Have not been able to fully enjoy it yet but have taken a 10 mile ride. So far it is everything I hoped for. At 250lbs I feel the pedal assist is powerful enough to tackle the hills. I used level 3 and with little effort enjoyed my 1st ride.

This bike was easy to assemble and rides nice. Handle bars were too low and I had to buy more comfortable ones for my riding style. Great experience so far.

By my description you can see Im a big dude. On almost any other bike I looked like a big guy on a little bike! Not on this behemoth. I shopped everyday for weeks. I now have over 200 miles so far and I am SO glad I chose the Velowave Ranger. For Bigger Men, stop looking right now! In my opinion you wont find a better built bike! I added an asjustable goose neck to raise the handlebars and thats it!!! Ive been up to 32mph on level asphalt here in Orlando!

Ive had this bike for the last three months and love every aspect of it! Plenty of power and great battery life. Im 260# and it takes me anywhere I want to go. Either on the road or on the wooded trail it is simply the best bike I have ever been on! Great job Velowave!!????

My first experience with an Ebike. I'm in decent shape at 62 y.o standing 6 ft and weighing 180 lbs. I have owned road bikes, mountain bikes and beach cruisers in my lifetime. My initial impression of the Velowave Ranger is that it's quite a remarkable bike. She's a hefty beast, yet nimble and well balanced. Assembly was easy, straightforward and took me about an hour. I went slowly, to ensure everything was adjusted and tightened correctly. This Ebike is exactly as described, performs as expected and is a sheer delight to ride. I charged the battery to 100% before testing out the bike.

I took it out for a shakedown run of 6 miles on some dirt roads near my home. Smooth and extremely comfortable are the two words to best describe it. Then, I went on a 20 mile ride in the evening, pushing the limits of everything.

The hydraulic brakes are amazing. Several deer jumped out in front of me, along with some small woodland creatures. In each instance, I was able to stop very quickly. I dampened down the adjustable front suspension for my comfort level, giving me a firm ride with adequate bump absorption. Shifting between the 7 gears was smooth and effortless, too.

The battery was at 28% after a total of 26 miles ridden. I felt that I had worked it hard and therefore am pleased with the power and range. The headlight is extremely bright, giving clear notice to others. I appreciate having 2 sets of frame mounts for both a pump and water bottle.

Overall I'm very impressed with the quality and functionality of this Ebike. The packaging was well thought out, with nary a scratch or mar anywhere. Every single weld on this 6061 aluminum frame was perfect, too. I would highly recommend the Velowave Ranger to anyone wanting a bigger sized Ebike.

For some folks though, it might be too much bike for them, as it's a hefty beast. I loaded it on my car carrier rack w/o the battery installed and it tested my abilities. I'd recommend removing the battery during transport anyways, to eliminate any possibility of having the heavy battery come loose. I don't see that happening though, with the solid, locking mechanism that holds it in. I'll update in a few weeks with any notable additions.

Wonderful bike! Just hit 350 miles on it. I commute 13.5 miles round trip on this bike and it has been amazing. Rain, gravel, pavement, it does well. I even bought my wife a Velowave bike and she loves it. Next up will be my son if they go on sale.

I have only had this bike a few weeks now...Vey happy with it. Very easy to assemble. Had a few rides on the beach so far. You need a bit of skill for thicker sand...but the shoreline is like riding on pavement with the fat tires. On the road is very smooth, fast and fun! Sturdy and we'll built. Excellent deal at this price. They don't ship to Canada which is unfortunate...but I live near the border and friends brought it over for me.

Customer service had very fast response and we're helpful. Highly recommend.

It's a fun little commuter bike. Throttle only will do 19.6 mph and peddle assist I got it up to 34 mph. I am 5'10 and weigh 150 pounds.

I really like the bicycle and got an E-Bike because my regular mountain bike caused knee pain when climbing hills. One downside of the weight of the bike is that I had to buy a bicycle hoist to store the bicycles because at around 75 pounds weight, it was too difficult to hang the bike from the wheels from hooks in the ceiling in the garage on my own. A bike hoist makes it easy to store the bike out of the way in the garage.

Very well packaged, and arrived within 3 days of order with free delivery via Fedex. Already rode 50 miles with pedal assist level 1 or 2 with much charge still left.

So far, it's pretty sweet and fun to ride. Highly recommended.

After putting 1400 miles on my previous ebike I was looking to upgrade in both wattage and battery life. I have been researching brands for a few months and finally decided on the Velowave. I'm happy I did. It is in every way a step up from my previous fat tire ebike. This thing feels solid. It feels higher end and we'll made. The hydraulic brakes are great quality. I love the battery being integrated into the down tube. The welds on the frame are excellent and the frame design is really clean and sharp looking. In addition I have ordered the upgraded controller from Velowave and will update this review with the results for those that are considering the upgrade.

I absolutely love this bike. In 2 weeks I've already put over 100 miles on mine. I would recommend this bike to anyone looking to get an E-Bike. You will not be disappointed.

I have to start off by saying that I love my bike! I bought a fat tire ranger and it’s been great. No missing parts and everything worked as advertised. That being said there’s a few issues that I’ve had to deal with. one issue is that the crank bolts have been working loose on a couple of rides and almost left me stranded but I just used the throttle to get home. I have now used loctite (blue) and tightened them up snuggly. We will see how it goes but I’m keeping a #8 Allen wrench with me for now. Second, and it’s a minor issue but it has been irritating. The 110 side power cable keeps falling out. It will not seat well in the charger. Also, the proprietorial plug is a pain, the 3 prong plug is extremely hard to find after-market. I will be exploring options for different chargers and plugs in the future. This plug keeps you from buying non-velowave chargers which are kind of over priced compared to others. While we are talking about pricing, the fender and rack kit are quite expensive also. I bought another brands kit for less than half the price and had to make changes for it to work, it was worth it for me. Another minor issue is finding information about programming the controller. I have not been able to find programming instructions that will allow me to customize it a little more to my liking. Not looking to increase speed or anything like that. I actually would like more range from the battery. I have figured out a ton of it but I have had to piece it together from bits of information here and there. …and last, my derailleur has allowed the chain to fall off a few times. I’m still adjusting it to find the correct position. That seems the last of my issues for now. 🙂 Now for the good! The frame fits me well (5’11”) with minor adjustments to the handlebars and seat. A visit to a professional bike shop might be a good thing for most people to get it set up for reliability. Fat tires are great and I love the stability. I’m running the tires at about 20psi and it seems to be a good compromise between battery life and comfort. Battery life is good and power from the motor is exactly what I expected. Would I buy this bike again? You bet!! I only have about 100 miles on it but loving every one of them! The price was right and delivery was within a week after purchase. Using it as my commuter and really could not be much happier with it over all! Thanks Velowave for a good value on the bike.

My bike came in the mail yesterday. Initial charge took a few hours. Putting the bike together was super easy and took about 30 minutes.

After the initial charge, I took the bike out and rode 10 miles in less than 20 minutes with minimal effort on peddle assist mode and still had 75% charge remaining. The bike is super smooth and I feel like it is a quality bike. I will update this review as time goes on as I will be using this bike daily for commuting to work.

If you’re thinking about an ebike that is fast and looks good, this is the one for you.

Working ubereats on this for 5 hours straight and YO the battery last long. I thought I was going to need 3 more batteries but 1 extra is fine. I weigh about 220 and around 5'9 in height, the bike is perfect I love it but the seat is a bit uncomfortable. The bike is heavy but don't have to worry about any new york city potholes.
