79Bike Lynx Overview
The 79Bike Lynx is an electric dirt bike, not a bicycle. No pedals, no gears, no clutch: you stand on the footpegs, twist the throttle, and a 72V mid drive motor rated at 12,000W peak and 410 N.m drives the rear wheel by chain. 79Bike quotes 56 MPH.
The 72V 40Ah LG battery holds 2,880 watt hours, good for about 75 miles by 79Bike's figure, and recharges in about 4 hours. A gold FastAce fork and a coil rear shock carry a 19 inch front and 18 inch rear wheel on a 6061 aluminum frame, with hydraulic brakes on 220mm rotors. A Bluetooth speaker is built in.
It is for private land and off road trails only, for riders 18 and up. At 146 lb it takes two people to lift into a truck. Want less weight or more power? See the Falcon Pro or the Falcon GT.
Built to be lived with
A 6061 T4 and T6 aluminum frame on a gold FastAce fork and a coil rear shock, on 80/100 19 front and 3.0 18 rear tires. The seat sits 33.7 inches up on a 49.6 inch wheelbase.
Hydraulic brakes on 220mm rotors, a lit motor badge, a headlight and a built in Bluetooth speaker all come on the bike. 12 months on the frame, motor, battery and electrics from 79Bike.
12,000W AT PEAK
The mid drive motor sits low in the middle of the 6061 aluminum frame and drives the rear wheel by chain. 79Bike rates it at 12,000W at peak with 410 N.m of torque and quotes 56 MPH. Peak is the burst when you open the throttle; the bike holds less under steady load.
There are no gears and no clutch, so the throttle is the whole job. Hydraulic brakes on 220mm rotors front and rear, the same size as the Falcon GT, bring 146 lb of bike back down.

A 72V 40AH BATTERY AND A SPEAKER
2,880 watt hours of LG cells behind the vented gold side lid, the same capacity as the Falcon GT. 79Bike quotes about 75 miles (120 km) on a charge and about 4 hours to refill from the charger in the box. Ride it hard at 56 MPH and expect a good deal less.
The Lynx is the only 79Bike with a speaker built into the bike. Pair your phone over Bluetooth and your music rides with you.

What it's made of
Four things that set it apart. Tap through them.

Motor
12,000W at peak, with a lit badge
The mid drive motor sits low in the frame and drives the rear wheel by chain. 79Bike rates it at 12,000W peak with 410 N.m of torque and quotes 56 MPH, and says the instant torque is what makes it climb. The 79 badge on the motor cover lights up with the bike.

Fork
A gold FastAce fork
An inverted FastAce fork with about 200mm of travel on an 80/100 19 front tire. The gold finish is on every colourway, not only the Black and Gold.

Rear shock
A coil rear shock
A coil over rear shock between the frame and the swingarm carries the 3.0 by 18 rear tire. 79Bike lists the rear travel as both 85mm and 200mm on its own pages, so we quote neither; the front is about 200mm.

Battery
72V 40Ah behind a gold lid
2,880 watt hours of LG cells behind the vented side lid. 79Bike quotes about 75 miles (120 km) and a 4 hour charge from the charger in the box.

Questions before buying
Lynx, Falcon Pro or Falcon GT?+
The Lynx sits in the middle: 12,000W at peak, a 72V 40Ah LG battery, 220mm rotors, a 6061 aluminum frame and a built in Bluetooth speaker, at 146 lb. The Falcon Pro is lighter and less expensive with 10,000W peak and a 35Ah battery. The Falcon GT is the strongest: 16,000W peak, 610 N.m, a Samsung battery and a four way adjustable fork.
Is it street legal?+
No. 79Bike sells the Lynx as an off road electric dirt bike. It has no pedals and reaches 56 MPH, so it is not an electric bicycle under any state's rules. Ride it on private land or on trails that allow dirt bikes, and check your local rules first.
How fast and how far does it go?+
79Bike rates it at 56 MPH and about 75 miles (120 km) on the 72V 40Ah battery. Rider weight, hills, soft ground and a heavy throttle hand all bring the range down, so plan on a good deal less when you ride it hard.
How long does it take to charge?+
About 4 hours from empty with the charger in the box, by 79Bike.
What does the Bluetooth speaker do?+
The Lynx has a speaker built into the bike. Pair your phone over Bluetooth the way you would with a portable speaker and your music plays from the bike while you ride. It is the only 79Bike with one.
Does it arrive assembled?+
79Bike does not publish assembly details for the Lynx. Expect some final assembly and have a second person there when it arrives: the bike weighs 146 lb with its battery. Photograph any box damage before you unpack and tell us within 3 days of delivery.
Can I ride it in the rain?+
79Bike does not publish a water rating for the Lynx, and its warranty does not cover damage from abnormal exposure to liquid. Damp trails and splashes are what a dirt bike is for; keep it out of deep water and do not hose down the motor or battery.
What is the warranty?+
79Bike covers the frame, motor, battery, controller, display, throttle, lights and wiring for 12 months from delivery, for the original owner. Crashes, stunt riding, racing, wear parts and any modification are not covered. We are an authorized dealer, so the warranty applies, and we handle the claim with 79Bike for you.
Gold, Purple or Yellow?+
Same bike, same price. All three have a black frame and body panels with a gold fork; the colour is the seat, the graphics and the trim. Black and Gold keeps it all gold, Black and Purple adds a purple seat and graphics, Black and Yellow a yellow seat and graphics.
Who is it for?+
79Bike recommends it for riders 18 and up. The seat is 33.7 inches off the ground, the tallest of the three 79Bikes, on a 49.6 inch wheelbase, and at 146 lb it takes two people to lift into a truck.
